In the light of recent events, the Security Service have made it known that there is to be a new measure of the danger to the Prime Minister’s personal position.

The level of threat will be measured on a scale as follows:

• Jowell – liable to make a clean getaway

• Bernie – least said soonest mended

• Mandelson – sacrifices have to be made

• Double Mandelson – major fall guy called for

• Full Hutton – armed forces on standby, attack the BBC.
