It's all the bits people think they remember happening in Doctor Who, storylined by the audience of Totally Doctor Who after a really sugary birthday party. But it does it *really* well! I have my own theories for the resolution of that cliffhanger but shall keep them in a sealed envelope in my sock drawer until next Monday morning. I'd love it (I don't know why I would, but I would love it) if it's a proper regeneration, and I think Davies' experiences as a TV viewer mean he's not going to cheat us. On the other hand, I don't think it's going to be an either/or job either.

Davroswise, I had been wondering whether it would be revealed that Davros himself was a soldier of the Time War, sent back in time by the Daleks to *ensure* the Dals met their destiny. Which would be a license for Dalek history to be, erm, a bit scrambled. (I'm watching their first story at the moment, which might explain my bias.) I definitely think it makes sense for Remembrance to be taking place during the War. It certainly gives a satisfying context to the TV Movie. The Doctor's big "no - you died!" moment was either interesting or confusing depending on how you look at things.

Whatever; this week is going to go agonisingly slowly. Especially during episode 6 of The Daleks, tonight.Nick Campbellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01618461043660129105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22974616.post-6502674717927490782008-06-30T12:40:00.000+01:002008-06-30T12:40:00.000+01:00The iconinc villain for the 5th Doctor is probably...The iconinc villain for the 5th Doctor is probably the Mara (hinted at with last week's circle of mirrors). Either that or Tegan.

6th would be Sil, with maybe a side-order of the Rani.

It's 7 that I can't think of one for.

It's only really with Ecclescakes that we get a new iconic villain, and the poor bugger is saddled with the Slitheen.Bob The Fishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00495398827983400835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22974616.post-38413526822034955652008-06-30T10:49:00.000+01:002008-06-30T10:49:00.000+01:00> Wow. Or with everything in between either.

Every time I hauled my jaw back towards the rest of my face it hit the floor again.Andyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10519766252522983800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22974616.post-28666034164093884282008-06-30T10:30:00.000+01:002008-06-30T10:30:00.000+01:00Ouch. There really must have been two different version being shown because the one I saw in Edinburgh was truly, earth-shatteringly bad in almost every respect.

All the bits you thought subtle and layered, I thought clumsy and awkward (e.g. Harriet Jones who I thought was ridiculous and not just because she was speaking the most tosh-riddenly cliched dialogue).

Still, only one more Davies script to suffer agonies through, thanks the sweet Lord :-)Stuart Douglashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07232782649771676547noreply@blogger.com
